Why is the RDCK using an online public engagement platform?

Public engagement usually involves attending an open house, public meeting, or providing a letter to the Board of Directors. Engage RDCK will help reach a broader audience for those who may not have the chance to participate in person, gather more resident feedback, and offer the community a new way to provide input on projects and initiatives. Instead of posting random comments on different social media platforms, Engage RDCK will be the one stop shop for all public engagement.

Why should I get involved?

We want to hear from you! Engage RDCK is a safe and secure online space to share your thoughts and ask questions about select RDCK projects, policies, and initiatives. Join the conversation and have your say!

How do I provide input?

Your input can be submitted using the online options relevant to each of the projects or initiatives currently open for consultation. Note: To provide feedback, you must be signed in.

Why do I need to sign up for this site to provide input?

We ask you to sign up for the online platform because:

  • It helps to minimize the chance of the consultation being manipulated by someone who leaves many comments supporting a position.
  • It allows us to update residents if there are changes about the consultation or the project.

Can I use this site anonymously?

Yes, you can use this website anonymously. Even when you register and post comments, your anonymity is protected because your chosen screen name identifies you.

What happens to my input?

All input and ideas are compiled and sent to the relevant project manager to inform the recommendation and/or decision making.

Input provided online is used in collaboration with other in-person consultation activities like open houses, public meetings, workshops, and other similar activities.

Note: All comments you make through Engage RDCK become public records.

Will my questions be monitored and answered in real-time?

When the project is live, content and engagement will be monitored regularly. Questions will be answered promptly – typically within three (3) business days.

How will I be contacted?

By registering for Engage RDCK, you consent to receive emails about new engagement opportunities and information and updates about consultations you have participated in or subscribed to.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes, the RDCK will only use your email address to contact you with updates and invite you to participate in consultations. Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any other purpose. For more information, see the Privacy Policy.
